In addition the Timer plays a bigger unwritten role to ensure that everyone goes home on time, which is quite important since the meeting participants may have families waiting at home or another agenda to complete for the day.Ī good way to play the timer's role successfully is to have a timer sheet. Obviously the person handling the role will ultimately determine the pass/fail status of the speaker's project – not the evaluator and grammarian who merely evaluates how did the project went. The timer role in Toastmasters chapter meetings is an important role and shouldn't be taken for granted.

Overall great app and you really can't beat it for $1, so I gave it 4 stars.Your first night in playing the Timer's role in your Toastmasters club? You'd better have a timer sheet so you will sound professional when you present your Timer's report. I know this app is meant for speeches and speech practice, but the applications could be so much more if those options were available. Which brings me to my last complaint, I would like to be able to add time markers or take them away, and have more color options for the time markers. It would be nice to change the first color to red, then green, then yellow, then orange, and then red again. The minimum time for my speeches is 3 minutes, but the timeline starts green. Second, I cannot change the colors of the timeline. It's not a deal breaker but I have my iPad setup like a laptop so I literally have to have it sitting on the keyboard when I'm using it in class. First and most obvious, the app doesn't change orientation when you turn the iPad. It was so good that I paid for the upgraded version. It works fine and is better than the other app I downloaded. I purchased this app for a class I am in. Besides, when would you have time to view ads while giving a talk? This app does not contain advertisements. In case you do go overtime, overtime mode will let you know and shows you by how much. Now you can make sure you have enough time for a wrap-up/ conclusion and the Q&A. In case you need more warning times, up to 3 customizable warnings are available (full version only). Can be used in count down (default) and count up modes. Time is displayed in the default HH:MM:SS format, or in a more readable minutes or seconds format.
